Welcome to Mathematics Münster

In 2025, 19 postdocs and 24 doctoral researchers from 17 countries took up positions at the Cluster of Excellence Mathematics Münster. At a "Welcome Event" on 5 November 2025, they were welcomed by the Cluster's spokesperson Prof. Dr. Thomas Nikolaus, together with other members, and received helpful information about the research environment, programmes, and opportunities.

Several professors introduced themselves and their research areas. During a group "speed-dating" session, the members got to know each other better and exchanged ideas about their mathematical interests and personal backgrounds.

After a pizza lunch, the doctoral researchers had the opportunity to learn more about the Mathematics Münster Graduate School (MMGS). In a workshop, Dr. Imke Franzmeier from the Cluster’s Early Career Support provided them with useful tools to help them get off to a good start in the doctoral phase.
