A group of researchers specializing in Operator Algebras has met last week at Mathematics Münster for an intensive workshop. Dr. Anna Duwenig (University of Wollongong), Prof. Dr. Astrid an Huef (Universtiy of Wellington), Prof. Dr. Maria Grazia Viola (Lakehead Universtiy), Dr. Magdalena Georgescu (University of Toronto), and Prof. Dr. Kristin Courtney (Mathematics Münster) are developing regularity conditions on a groupoid which can guarantee finite noncommutative covering dimension on its corresponding C*-algebra.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to finally meet up in person and work intensively for an entire week", says Kristin Courtney, Mathrix Professor at Mathematics Münster, on behalf of the group.

"There are numerous regularity properties that have been defined in the context of groups and dynamics, which give rise to analogous regularity properties in their associated C*-algebras.

Building on our previous work on one such regularity property, we developed groupoid generalizations of others with the aim of comparing these properties directly at the level of groupoids. We are also working to translate various ad hoc methods appearing in ours and others proofs into a unified technique."
