Orientation Week

Of course, the Orientation and Introduction Week will take place again this year for all freshmen who will start their math or computer science studies at Münster University in the upcoming winter semester. The O-week will take place from 02 to 06 October 2023.

All information about the O-week can be found in our Learnweb course for the O-week: O-Woche FB10 23. Please join this course, so we can reach out to all of you optimally.

For your orientation you can find the preliminary program here on this page. As soon as details are fixed, we will add them here. We recommend that you come to us on Monday in any case - despite possible overlaps with other O-weeks and introductory events. This way you will definitely get all the important information about your study program! Important information for first-year students of our department can also be found here.

Note for teaching position students (two-subject bachelor and vocational college): Special information about your start of studies can be found here! If you are not able to attend the student advisory on Monday because of your second subject, there will be an alternative date on Wednesday.

Orientation Week Programme

Monday (02.10.)

• 10 am: Reception and division into small groups with breakfast in lecture hall M1 (please bring your own cup and breakfast board!)
  • afterwards: study counseling and timetable preparation as well as tour of the department.
• 2 pm: Fun lecture "How to become rich and famous with mathematics" in lecture hall M3. (in German)
• 7:30 pm: Pub visit in study groups

Tuesday (03.10.)

• No programm due to national holiday.

Wednesday (04.10.)

• 11 am: Study counseling in lecture hall M1 (alternative date for Monday - only for two-subject Bachelor students)
• 1 pm: City rally. meeting point: Near the lawn in front of the highrise (Einsteinstr. 62).
• afterwards: barbecue in the meadows around the Sanctuarium

Thursday (05.10.)

• 11 am: Rector's welcome / Issuing the backpacks. Read more.
• 12:45 pm: Registration for the Ersti-Wochenende at the student council
• 1 pm: Game afternoon in the tower block at the student council
• 7 pm: Pub rally (meeting point: Hafenplatz)

Friday (06.10.)

• 2 pm: Last minute study counseling at the Fachschaft
• 3 pm: Sports afternoon at the faculty
• 7 pm: Cozy movie night with award ceremony of the city rally in the M1
