1) Funding for Professional Training and Conference Travel for Early-Career Female Researchers
The Department of Biology offers financial assistance to support female researchers attending advanced training courses or academic conferences. To be eligible, applicants must actively contribute to the event (e.g., give a presentation or present a poster). Applications must be submitted before the trip. 2) Student Assistant Funding to Support Researchers Facing a Dual Burden: Laboratory Assistance
The Department of Biology offers targeted support for researchers in the final phase of their academic studies (e.g., bachelor's or master's thesis, or PhD dissertation) who are simultaneously caring for young children (infants, toddlers, or school-aged) or family members in need of care. To ease this double burden, financial support is available for hiring a student laboratory assistant. Details on eligibility and how to apply can be found in the funding guidelines.

3) Funding for lectures as part of the Gerti Dücker Lecture Series
The Department of Biology provides funding for the invitation of outstanding women in science to give a lecture as part of the regular institute seminars and to be available for a subsequent "Meet the Speaker" event. The goal of this lecture series is to facilitate discussions about science, as well as topics such as "Women in Science" and "Care and Career".
