Orientation events
Normally new students need some orientation at the start of their first semester. There are numerous offices at the University of Münster that provide the orientation you need.
First and foremost, you can obtain extensive information from your faculty before the semester begins during orientation week (or “O-Woche” as we call it). During this important week, you can meet many of your fellow students and attend the large “First Semester Welcome Event” organised by the Rectorate in the winter semester.
The International Office also offers “Welcome Weeks” to international students before the official start of the lecture period. The programme introduces you to the unique aspects of German academic life, and if you decide to participate in the Buddy Programme, you can build contacts with other students in Münster and learn more about your new university.
