Important Notes [de]
You must register in HIS/LSF and QISPOS for each course in which you wish to complete coursework or take an exam.
Registration for seminars:
- To participate in an IfS course, you must register via the HIS/LSF system. You are not required to register for lectures.
- Registration is possible for students as soon as the HIS/LSF system opens. The end of the registration period will be announced on the homepage of the Department of Sociology.
- The time of registration has no effect on the subsequent allocation of places.
- You can cancel your registration at any time until the end of the registration period. After that, your registration is binding.
- After the registration deadline, all students can continue to register in HIS/LSF for seminars that still have places available; this applies in particular to first-semester students who did not receive their admission until after the end of the registration period (courses with places available can be identified by the fact that the “Register/Deregister” function is still activated).
- If there are any comments regarding registration, please take note of them.
Lottery for seminar
- For seminars in which there are more registrations than places available, an allocation procedure will be carried out after the registration deadline.
- The number of registrations will be checked and taken into account in this selection process.
- The results of the official allocation procedure will be posted on a notice board.
- In cases of particular hardship, a limited number of additional places are available for each course after the official allocation process has been completed. The decision on this is made exclusively by the respective instructor.
Registration for coursework and examination
- In order to complete a course or examination, you must register in QISPOS during the registration periods specified by the Examination Office (usually during the current semester). This registration is in addition to the registrations via HIS/LSF.
- Late registrations are not possible.
- You can only complete courses that are assigned to your degree program. Therefore, please note the assignments of the individual courses and modules.
Methods and statistics course
- As part of the coordinated methods training in Department 06, courses in the field of methods at the IfS are also open to students from other degree programs.
- Similarly, IfS students can take suitable courses as part of the coordinated methods training at other institutes in Department 06.
