From 25 to 29 November 2019, the Public Climate School will also take place at the WWU. In this nationwide climate strike week, the regular events of the university will be replaced or supplemented by workshops, seminars, lectures and discussions on the topic of climate protection. The climate strike week was initiated by the Students for Future in Münster with the support of the AStA of the University of Münster. Many ZIN members and employees also responded to the call to open courses for this week and report them to the Public Climate School.
On Monday, ZIN employee Tobias Gumbert will start with his seminar "Global Waste Governance and Politics - Development of a Research Agenda" (08-10 am, SCH 100.107).
Immediately afterwards, ZIN member Prof. Dr. Matthias Grundmann will give a lecture on "Society - Socialization - Individual: Social Attachment and Social Climate" (2-4 p.m., SCH121.5).
On Tuesday evening, "Dystopias and Utopias of the Climate Movement" will be the topic of another event organized by ZIN employee Dr. Björn Wendt (6-8 pm, SCH 121.554).
The Wednesday of the Public Climate School begins with two lectures by ZIN member Prof. Dr. Andreas Löschel on "Resource Economics" (8-10 am, JUR498) and "Environmental Economics" (10-12 am, same room).
On Wednesday evening Tobias Gumbert will report in his lecture "Die Geister, die wir rufen - über die unintenintenintenintenintenintenintenintentionen Nebenfolgen der globalen Plastik-Ökonomie" on the global distribution and lack of regulation of plastics (20-22 o'clock, Forum of the KSHG).
