Amandine Escalier is currently "Maîtresse de conférence" (equivalent to senior lecturer/associate professor in the French system) at the math department of Lyon 1 University. She was a postdoc at Mathematics Münster from July 2021 to September 2023, in the group of Linus Kramer.

What research topic are you currently working on, and how has your research focus changed over the past few years?
I started as a geometric group theorist and discovered measured group theory during my last year of PhD. Today I am really working on the interactions between these two areas.

What did you take away from your time at Mathematics Münster that has had an impact on your career?
During my time in Münster and through the workshops and events I had the opportunity to attend, I built a great network of colleagues, some of whom have now become good friends!

Are there any particular memories from your time in Münster that you would like to share?
Münster is a truly beautiful city and I remember being amazed by the different ways it is beautiful. Whether it’s the city center, the Schlossgarten, the Aasee or the Kanal, all these neighbourhoods are quite different but I found them wonderful, each in their own way.
