Office 365: Initial Registration

To use Office 365 free of charge, you must first register for "Microsoft Azure" in the IT Portal. You can then download the Office software from the Microsoft Online Portal and install it on up to 5 devices. Here you can also view and administrate on which devices your Office 365 licence is active.

 

  • Registering for Microsoft Azure

    Log in to the IT portal with your WWU ID and WWU password. Select "Licenses (software, etc.)" in the left menu bar and click "Activate" behind "You do not have a Microsoft Azure account".

    Your Microsoft Azure ID is WWU-Kennung@on.wwu.de. Now set your Microsoft Azure password and confirm the submission of your data to Microsoft by clicking YES. Then confirm your information by clicking "Activate Microsoft Azure account and licenses now".

    Your data will now be sent to Microsoft. Please note that it can take up to an hour for your license to be activated.

  • Downloading Office 365 Products

     

    You will now be taken to the home page of your Microsoft Office account. Click "Install Office" in the upper right corner if you want to install the Office products on your device.

    Select the menu item "Office 365 Apps - Includes Outlook, OneDrive for Business, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more". The download of the Office products should now start automatically.
