Target group: doctoral researchers

A fulfilling research experience requires a thoughtfully crafted path for individual growth. An Individual Development Plan (IDP) serves as a roadmap to direct you through the complexities of your personal, academic and career development. This peer-assisted workshop focuses on key aspects of the development planning process, providing a structured, supportive, and motivating framework to set and achieve meaningful goals. Have you documented your goals and progress in a clear, actionable way? Do you hold regular check-ins with peers or your supervisor to discuss your goals and achievements? If any of these questions resonate with you, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to gain clarity, structure, focus, and progress in your development journey.

What to expect:

  • Workshop: Tue - Wed, 24–25 Jun 2025, 13:00–17:00 (CERes, Schlossplatz 6, room 001)
  • Optional self-organised Peer Accountability Group meetings: July 2025
  • Optional individual coaching: 60-minute sessions available in late July (in person)

Objectives:

  • Clarify personal and professional values, competencies, and motivations, linking them to key development goals

  • Identify effective internal and external resources to support development goals

  • Develop the ability to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) development goals

  • Anticipate and address challenges in achieving development goals

Requirements: B2 level proficiency in English. Participants will be required to complete a Competency Assessment Form and bring a printed copy to the workshop. Completion of this form is mandatory for attendance. Participants who wish to join optional self-organised peer support group meetings are expected to commit to active participation and are required to complete a matching form to facilitate group formation.

Facilitator: Dr. Iva Ognjanovic (CERes)
