The Einstein Telescope, an advanced gravitational wave observatory currently in the planning stages, promises to revolutionize this field even further. Unlike current detectors like LIGO and Virgo, which are surface-based, the Einstein Telescope will be an underground facility. This positioning greatly reduces noise and increases sensitivity, allowing it to detect weaker and more distant gravitational wave sources. Its triangular design and 10-kilometer-long arms will enable it to observe a wider range of frequencies. As a result, the Einstein Telescope will be able to provide a more detailed picture of gravitational wave sources and could potentially uncover new phenomena, helping to answer some of the most profound questions in modern physics and cosmology.
