Scientists of the XENON collaboration have for the first time observed low-energy solar neutrinos scattering on electrons in the “XENONnT” particle detector. The group of Prof Christian Weinheimer at the Institute for Nuclear Physics of the University of Münster is involved in the experiment.

We congratulate Prof. Christian Weinheimer on his election to the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. He is now the 25th active member from the University of Münster.

Berit Schlüter war für einige Wochen am Südpol, um bei einer Erweiterung des Neutrino-Observatoriums „IceCube“ zu helfen. In einem Vortrag am 16. April gibt sie mit vielen Fotos Einblicke in ihre außergewöhnliche Dienstreise.
