Last Friday, the Department of Movement Science, formerly Sport Biomechanics at the Institute of Sport and Exercise Sciences (IfS) at the University of Münster, celebrated its 50th anniversary. To mark this special occasion, current and former staff members gathered for a festive reunion. We were especially pleased to welcome Professor Klaus Nicol as our guest of honor. Between 1979 and 2001, he played a key role in establishing and successfully developing the Chair of Sport Biomechanics. As part of the event, guests were given a guided tour of our modern laboratories and current research facilities. Over refreshments, there was ample opportunity for engaging conversations, the sharing of memories, and reconnecting with colleagues. In a warm and enjoyable atmosphere, the anniversary celebration continued well into the evening.
