‘Physical Activity and Healthy Longevity’ - Guests from France, Belgium, Israel - Planning for Erasmus Mundus

Together with Michel Audiffren (Poitiers), Ivan Bautmans (Brussels) and Yael Netz
(Wingate) we planned the new Erasmus Mundus Joint
Masters from 9-11.7.25. The hosts were Ellen Bentlage, Jil Bartholmy (Leiden)
and Michael Brach. In the EMJM Master's programme you study at more than one university, generous scholarships are possible. Our preparations are supported by the
International Office.

The following people took part in the kick-off meeting, which was organised by the IFS (from left):
Dr Ellen Bentlage, University of Münster, Institute of Sports and Exercise Science
Prof Dr Michael Brach, University of Münster, Institute of Sports and Exercise Science
Prof Dr Michel Audiffren, University of Poitiers (France)
Prof Dr Ivan Bautmans, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium)
Prof. Dr Heiko Wagner, University of Münster, Institute of Sports and Exercise Science
Prof Dr Yael Netz, Wingate-Levinsky College (Israel)
Jil Bartholmy, Leiden University (Netherlands)

This master's programme would underline the sustainability of the COST Action ‘PhysAgeNet’ network, as the current results and standards would be passed on to the next generation of scientists. In addition, the subject area ‘Individualised diagnosis, support, and participation in physical activity across the lifespan’, which has been identified by the IfS as a research focus, could be strengthened. The project met with unanimous approval and can benefit from broad experience both in Münster and among the partners.

The input from Sandra Wiegand and Jana Masselink from the International Office, Stefanie Weide from the Department of Teaching Quality and Dr Michal Räckers from the School of Business and Economics at the University of Münster, who shared his experiences with us on the ongoing EMJM Master's programme ‘Science in Public Sector Innovation and E-Governance (PIONEER)’, was also particularly valuable.
