Successful crash tests with human subjects

Crash tests with a number of brave human subjects were conducted to collect data on the interaction between passengers and seatbelts during low-velocity crashes. Together with partners Carl Stahl GmbH & Co. KG, GeBioM, and the Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen, Maarten van den Heuvel and Marc de Lussanet from the Department of Movement Science collected data as the subjects were accelerated from 0 to up to 8 km/h within a few hundred milliseconds.
The tests are part of a BMWi-funded ZIM-project regarding seatbelt optimisation and were carried out at the test facility of crashtest-service.com GmbH in Münster.
