Using the LibraryAll students of the University of Münster with a valid student identification card can loan books and other media. The loan period is one week and can be extended to a maximum of four weeks.
The loan period for academic staff of the University of Münster is four weeks. Automatic renewals are possible up to a maximum of twelve months.
Some holdings (journals, books with special locations, etc.) are excluded from borrowing.Note for library users with disabilities: Unfortunately, the library of the English Department is not barrier-free. Library staff will fetch any medium for you on request. You are also welcome to pre-order media for use by phone or e-mail, which will then be held for you at the supervisor's desk.

The library is a reference library: media are not loaned out.
There are two exceptions:
- overnight and weekend borrowing for students
Books and media from the media library can be borrowed overnight and over the weekend during both the lecture period and the lecture-free period, from 3.00pm until 12.00pm on the following opening day of the library.
They may borrow a maximum of five books and media items.- borrowing for academic staff
The loan period for teaching staff at the University of Münster is four weeks
Separate regulations apply to standardised tests.

Homepage [de]The library of the Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Studies is a reference library. Borrowing of books is only possible in exceptional cases for lecturers of the Department of Philology and for students of the study programs "Antike Kulturen Ägyptens und Vorderasiens" and "Sprachen und Kulturen Ägyptens und Vorderasiens" in consultation with the head of the institute.
Since the Institute does not have its own library staff, the use of the library for external visitors is made possible by supervising students and doctoral candidates. As a consequence, our opening hours may vary from semester to semester.Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies
