    The holdings comprise approximately 87,000 volumes, including not only Slavic studies but also a large number of titles on Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and Finnish language and literature.

    The library is organized by language/country, and within each language/country by subject area: texts/sources, reference works, linguistics, literary studies, philosophy, religion, art, music, theater, history, law, regional studies, economics, science, education, general overviews, bibliography. After primary literature, the largest areas are literary studies, linguistics, and history.

    The holdings are being reorganized according to RVK; newer literature can be found opposite rooms 210-211.

Ukrainian Studies in the Library for Slavic Studies and Access to Information on the War in Ukraine

The library of the Institute for Slavic Studies has an extensive collection on Ukrainian Studies: fiction by Ukrainian authors, including many translations of contemporary literature, as well as works on the culture and history of Ukraine. Numerous media on these topics can be found in library room 202 (call numbers Af, Cf-Zf) and under other call numbers throughout the library collection (e.g., KH/KL 9990...). This collection is continuously being expanded. A selection of contemporary literature in translation can be found on a specially designated shelf in the library entrance area:
