Since the 2023/24 winter semester, the institute offers a new dual-subject BA in Slavic Studies. The program comprises roughly equal parts of literary studies, linguistics (both also including cultural studies and historical aspects), and language practice. Students can choose Russian, Polish, or Czech as their main language. The Slavic Studies can be started with or without knowledge of a Slavic language. More detailed information on the structure of the program can be found here.
The Institute of Slavic Studies participates in interdisciplinary master's programs of the Department 09 Philology: It is responsible for the Master's program in General and Comparative Literature, where Slavic literature can be chosen as a major. Slavic linguistics can be studied as part of a specialization module in the Master's program in Empirical and Applied Linguistics.
All students of other departments, exchange students and incoming ERASMUS students are welcome in our courses! Courses
Some of our courses, especially the language courses, can also be taken as part of General Studies.
