Welcome to the Faculty of Philology at the University of Münster!
The Faculty of Philology is one of the two largest of fifteen faculties at the University of Münster (WWU). It was established in the winter semester 1996/97 after several departments and smaller faculties were merged into one. The Faculty of Philology comprises all philological subjects at the University of Münster with the exception of Classical Philology, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, and Latin Medieval Philology, which belong to the Faculty of History and Philosophy (FB 08). The faculty’s disciplinary spectrum is neither historically nor regionally restricted, and its research subjects span all cultural epochs and continents.
