The informationprocessing supply unit (IVV) Natural Sciences of the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (WWU) is looking at the earliest possibility for

Student Assistants f/m

for the maintenance of eScience Offers for the users from the subject areas Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Physics as well as some associated Areas. We supply, as part fo the decentralised IV supply at the WWU, alltogether roughly 12,000 users and ca. 6,000 networked devices.

Description of Tasks

The various tasks can be carried out by one or more persons alone or together.

For the maintenance of the diversified eScience-Offers (www.uni-muenster.de/NWZ/Angebot/index.html) we are looking for applicants who help us when it comes to technical support, further development and user consultation. In particular, the support of the offer for scientific computing on the distributed Morfeus GRID under Windows and Linux, as well as the maintenance and further development of the HTCondor platform used for this purpose is an essential part of it.

Prerequisites

In addition to computer affinity and a basic knowledge of IT, a secure command of the German and English language is necessary.

Solid knowledge of at least the Linux and Windows operating systems is required, as well as programming skills that can be used in a script and/or high-level language. Knowledge of virtualization technology (e.g. VirtualBox) is an advantage.

We offer you flexible working hours between 4 and 19 hours per week, depending on the tasks assigned to you.
