The greatest dependencies for users in the NWZ are in the area of Microsoft, especially MS Office

- Alternatives are already available at NWZ, e.g., LibreOffice

- or the full-featured Office package OnlyOffice on Sciebo (also for ‘shared work’)

- now also with “BridgIT,” the assistant for sharing research data

- and Overleaf as a LaTex editor

- every workflow that does not rely on MS Office gives the university a little more leeway

- but MS Office will of course continue to be available where necessary also in the future

- Microsoft does not fully disclose Office format specifications and does not fully implement free formats;

as a result, minor formatting issues unfortunately occur when switching to free formats

- and start building flexibility in your use of AI now; neither ChatGPT nor MS Copilot are without alternatives
