COMSOL Meeting Münster - May 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Registration now open

Modeling and simulation have become a key component of scientific and engineering research, complementing experimentation and theoretical analysis.

COMSOL Multiphysics is an extensible multiphysics simulation platform that supports the modeling and coupling of a wide range of physical phenomena, including electromagnetics, fluid flow, heat transfer, (electro)chemistry, mechanics, acoustics, and defining user-defined systems of partial differential equations. It is widely used by research groups in Münster and around the world.

Join us at the COMSOL Meeting at University of Münster to see how multiphysics simulation can support your work. You’ll get an overview of how the COMSOL® software is applied across different technical areas, meet members of the COMSOL community, and discuss your own simulation goals. This is an opportunity to exchange ideas and discover practical ways to move your research projects forward.

Detailed information can be found on Learnweb and the COMSOL events page.

Register early to secure your spot.

Job opening: IT Administrator/System Engineer

The IVV Naturwissenschaften at the University of Münster is looking to fill the position of

IT Administrator/System Engineer

as soon as possible. This is a full-time position for a fixed term of one year. The position is classified up to pay grade 11 TV-L.

Further information on the job advertisement (in german) and the online application (german) are available on the university's application portal

The closing date for applications is April 1, 2026.

Registration open: "Introduction to the administration of computers in the IVV"

In the summer term the lecture series "Administration of Computers in the IVV Naturwissenschaften" will take place again.

You can find the selection of event topics in Learnweb, now.

You can register online until April 12, 2026, for some or all of the topics.

Please note that you first have to enroll in the course in the Learnweb and then register for the individual topics via the so-called feedback.

The enrollment in the course alone, without answering the feedback for topic selection, is not sufficient. Enrolled-only students are NOT counted as participants (see below)!

The topics will be selected based on demand beginning April 13, at which time the exact dates for the individual topics will be fixed. If a minimum number of 5 participants is not reached for a topic, this topic will be skipped for this semester's course. In that case, registered participants will be informed of the cancellation by e-mail.

Please register only for the topics you are actually interested in.

The event will take place during the semester (starting April 16, 2026) at ComputerLab 745 in the Institute for Solid State Theory, Building IG 1, Wilhelm-Klemm-Str. 10 on Thursdays from 10:15am to 12pm.
