Semester opening for the winter semester
We warmly invite you to this year’s Welcome Evening and Fellow Day! This year, we will be officially opening our semester on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at 17.00 with a keynote lecture by our Research Professor, Prof. Dr Sarah Albiez-Wieck, entitled ‘Legal categorisations and petitions in the Spanish Empire’.
Our Fellow Day will take place on 15 October 2026 from 9.30 to17.00. As part of our official semester opening, our Fellows from the fields of history, legal history, law and sociology will present research projects on legal unity and pluralism. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to discuss these topics.
