Psychotherapeutic social skills (PsychSozKomp)
In the master's program in psychology with a focus on clinical psychology and psychotherapy, CeSoS supports the training of prospective psychotherapists. In collaboration with the Hechler and Brockmeyer working groups, concepts for promoting and systematically assessing psychotherapeutic social skills are developed and tested.
A central component of this work is practical exercises with simulated patients at the Learning Center for Individualized Medical Practice and Training (Limette). Here, students train their social skills in realistic therapeutic conversations. Their skills are assessed both by trained raters and through self-assessment. The results are reported digitally and then reflected upon during the course of study in order to promote the development of one's own skills in a targeted manner.
In addition, selected students in higher semesters take on observer roles in the Limette sessions. They evaluate the social skills of their fellow students using structured criteria, thereby training their ability to assess others professionally.
Project status
Since 2024, PsychSozKompz has been integrated into the master's program in psychology with a focus on clinical psychology and psychotherapy. The concept is designed for long-term implementation and is continuously evaluated and further developed in terms of content.
