Entrepreneurial Skills
Social skills for start-up success
In the “Entrepreneurial Skills” project, CeSoS is working together with the REACH - EUREGIO Start-up Center and the Psychology of Entrepreneurship working group. The project is investigating the role social skills play in the context of start-ups. After all, successful start-ups need more than just an innovative idea and a viable business model, they need the right social skills to convince others of themselves and their ideas.
Using pitch videos, we analyze which behaviors, such as body language, gestures, facial expressions, and speech style, as well as the expression of skills such as passion, authenticity, and composure, are related to perceived and actual start-up success.
Project status
The project has been in the planning phase since 2025. The aim is to utilize the findings in the selection and development of founders and to specifically promote entrepreneurial social skills.
