Welcome to Münster: International students begin the winter semester
The University of Münster is welcoming 248 international exchange students for the 2026/27 winter semester. Around 170 of them attended the International Office’s Welcome Event on 21 September. The event provided an introduction to studying and living in Münster, and gave the new arrivals the opportunity to meet fellow exchange students and establish their first connections.
The University's Buddy Programme provides international students with additional support as they settle into life in Münster. This semester, 95 students from the University of Münster have signed up to become buddies. They will support new arrivals during their first few weeks, helping them to find their feet at the university and in the city. Over the coming days, the programme includes a city tour, a welcome party and various excursions.
Degree-seeking international students who have come to Münster to complete a full degree programme will be welcomed at separate events on 30 September and 1 October. On 1 October, all new international students, as well as those who have been living in Münster for some time, are invited to the 'We Are International Networking Event'. Starting at 3 pm at the International Student Lounge (Schlossgarten 3, entrance C), the event offers an opportunity to meet other international students and expand your network.
