Personnel change at the Brazil Centre of the University of Münster

Personnel change at the liaison office of the Brazil Centre at the University of Münster in São Paulo: At the beginning of November, Laura Redondo took over the management of the liaison office of Anja Grecko Lorenz, who now heads the Brazil Centre in Münster.

As head of the liaison office, the Brazilian-born advises prospective students and doctoral candidates as well as academics and university representatives, for example on cooperation and residence opportunities with and at Münster University. She also organizes information events and delegation trips. The 33-year-old participates in university fairs and establishes contacts with government agencies, funding institutions and research institutes in Brazil. She supports scientists in Münster and Brazilian alumni of Münster University in networking and maintaining contacts. Another activity is the communication and public relations of the University of Münster in Brazil and the maintenance of the website and social media channels.

Laura Redondo studied International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. After her studies she worked in the marketing office of the German Academic Exchange Service in Brazil. After that, she supported the German Research Foundation in São Paulo as a consultant for scientific and institutional cooperation with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay.

Brazil is one of Münster University's most important strategic partner countries. Numerous scientists at the University of Münster have been cooperating intensively with Brazilian partners for many years. In addition, the University of Münster has several partnership agreements with Brazilian universities.

Information on the liaison office in São Paulo

The Brazil Centre was established at Münster University in 2010. Since 2012, the University has maintained a liaison office in São Paulo. The office is located in the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH), which was established by the Federal Foreign Office in 2009. Through its liaison office, Münster University participates in numerous events organized by DWIH. The office thus supports the intensification and expansion of scientific and academic cooperation between Münster and Brazilian institutions and promotes the emergence of new collaborations. The neighbouring building of the DWIH houses the German-Brazilian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and various other German institutions, which also facilitates access to German companies in Brazil.
