Thanks to the generous support of the Santander Mobility Fund, I had the privilege of attending the MindBrainBody (MBB) Symposium in Berlin (Germany), from March 11th to 13th 2024. Organized by the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, this symposium provided a dynamic platform for neuroscientists to engage in interdisciplinary discussions at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and physiology, focusing on the significant role of the body in shaping brain dynamics and cognition.
As a doctoral student in Psychology at the University of Münster, investigating the intricate relationship between breathing rhythm and brain activity in clinical contexts, this symposium offered an invaluable opportunity to deepen my understanding and contribute to the discourse in the field of interoception.
Indeed, during the poster presentation of my work on the relationship between respiration and multisensory perception, I received valuable feedback from experienced researchers that will significantly contribute to the refinement and development of my PhD thesis. Their insights and suggestions provide a roadmap for further exploration within the “brain-body coupling” research area, guiding me towards more robust methodologies and impactful contributions to the field.
Moreover, the symposium fostered a collaborative environment conducive to networking and knowledge exchange. Interactions with scholars from diverse backgrounds and countries not only enriched my understanding of the subject matter but also sparked innovative ideas for future research endeavors. The connections forged during the symposium continue to serve as a source of inspiration and collaboration as I progress in my academic journey.
