Request a NIC_online entry for UniCloud VMs
Registration of OpenStack (UniCloud) VMs in the NIC database is currently required to apply for certificates and obtain a DNS entry. The CIT is in the process of automating this process, but until further notice, the IVV must create such a NIC database entry.
The IVV is responsible for the network in which UniCloud users create virtual machines. You may need to grant the IVV access to the OpenStack project so that it can verify that you are indeed the owner of the relevant IP addresses.
It is not currently possible to verify VMs in the UniCloud.
Requesting a NIC_online entry via the hotline
You can request the creation of a NIC_online entry informally through the NWZ hotline.
The email (example shown in the image) must include the following information:
Name of the OpenStack VM, in the example, My-VM
OpenStack IPv4 address, the example shows an invalid IP address 10.4.123.456
Operating institution (Betreibende Einrichtung), in the example, the Institute for Exemplary Research
Person in charge (Leitend Verantwortlicher); in the example, Prof. Dr. Good Example
Technical manager (Technisch Verantwortlicher); in the example, John Doe
