Teaching evaluations at the Münster University of Music

The University of Music began to regularly monitor the quality of its courses based on student feedback in the summer semester 2012.

Thanks to the Evaluation Regulations of the WWU, which meanwhile require students in all faculties to regularly complete course evaluations, we have the possibility to learn how well we are doing and what must still be done to improve our teaching activities. The questionnaires are designed in such a way to provide instructors meaningful and constructive feedback.

The current questionnaire was most recently revised in the winter semester 2015/16 and has proven quite helpful in this respect. The responses are processed with the aid of "EvaSys" software. The detailed results are forwarded to the respective instructors and the summarised results are published here (only accessible with a ZIV user ID of the University of Münster).

Obligations and legal basis

All students and members involved in teaching and research at the University of Music are obliged to participate in the evaluation in accordance with the Evaluation Regulations. In addition to these regulations, an additional legal basis is provided by the University's data protection policy, available here as a PDF.

Questionnaires

The Evaluation Regulations stipulate that the questionnaires on student course criticism contain core questions provided by the steering committee. The questionnaires used at the University of Music also contain questions regarding the additional modules.

Results of the teaching evaluation

The results of the course evaluations are posted here at the end of each semester. According to the Evaluation Regulations, the University is obliged to publish these results. The files can only be accessed from within the University of Münster.
