From the Entrance Examination to the Start of Your Studies
After the Entrance Examination, there are still a few important steps to take before you begin your studies at the University of Music Münster. On this page, you will find all the information you need about examination results, admission, enrolment, as well as deadlines and organizational procedures. We‘ve also compiled helpful tips and further information to ensure a successful start to your studies.
Results
As soon as the results of the individual examination components are finalized and entered into the system, you will be notified via the Information Portal. You can check the current status of your application there at any time.
Admission
After the results of the Entrance Examination have been evaluated, the Dean’s Office decides on admissions. The first admission notifications will be sent via the Information Portal approximately three weeks after the Entrance Examination. Admission is valid only for the start of studies specified in the admission notice. It is not possible to defer the start of your studies.
Waiting List Procedure
If there are more successful applicants than available places, unfortunately not all applicants can be admitted. In this case, you will initially be placed on the waiting list. Please be patient; we will inform you via the Information Portal as soon as possible, usually within a further four weeks. You will receive information about the admission decision via the Information Portal.
Accepting Your Place
Have you passed the Entrance Examination and received an offer of admission? Congratulations!
You must now accept your place through the Information Portal. You’ll find the deadline on your admission notice. If you do not accept the spot by the deadline, your admission will expire.
If you do not wish to accept the place, please also indicate this in the Information Portal. By acting fairly, you’re helping ensure that other prospective students can secure a spot sooner.
Enrolment
Once you have accepted your place, the next step is to enrol at the University of Münster.
You can also complete the online enrolment process through the Information Portal.
Please note the deadlines for online enrollment; late enrollment is not possible:
- Bachelor’s degree programmes: 15 July
- Master’s degree programmes, Music Certificate, Artist Diploma: 15 November
All required documents must be uploaded completely and by the deadline. Enrolment in a postgraduate programme (Master’s degree, Music Certificate, or Artist Diploma) is only possible once you have provided proof of your first professionally qualifying degree, such as a Bachelor’s degree certificate.
Even if you are already studying at the University of Münster, you must complete the online enrolment process. During the enrolment process, please indicate that you wish to transfer to the new degree programme.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the online enrollment process, please feel free to contact the Student Admissions Office directly.
