SPSS: License Activation
With a network license you can use SPSS free of charge in the university network (or from home with a VPN connection). A paid single user license allows you to use SPSS offline on your PC.
Activating the Network License
Requirements: Your PC must be connected to the Internet continuously and the VPN connection to the WWU must be established.
SPSS Amos: When using SPSS Amos for the first time, after having installed and activated SPSS, the License Authorization Wizard (law.exe) for Amos must be run manually by the user to activate the corresponding Amos License as well. The law.exe is located in the corresponding program folder after installing SPSS and must be run as administrator.
1. Preparation for licensing
To start licensing SPSS, "Launch license wizard" must be selected.
2. License status
The "License Authorization Wizard" starts automatically after the first installation, but can also be opened again at any time via the program menu.
The first window shows you the current license status, which you can confirm by clicking "Next".

IMPORTANT: Write down the lock code for your computer.
To use the free network license from SPSS, select "License for concurrent users" in the following menu and confirm the selection with "Next".

In the following window you need the name of the license server. Enter spss.uni-muenster.de there and confirm the entry with "Next".
After successful authorization, an overview of the licensed products is displayed, which you can confirm by clicking on "Finish".

Requirement: You need a single user license.

Enter the license code you received in the upper field and confirm it with "Add".
Start the license code verification by clicking "Next".

In the next window you see the status of the license authorization, which you can confirm with "Next".
After successful authorization, an overview of the licensed products is displayed. After clicking on "Finish" the licensing is finished.
