Study and Internships Abroad

Contact Persons

The University of Münster's International Office provides information on studying and stays abroad. It advises students who are planning a stay abroad, particularly with regard to organizational questions. The team at the International Office is available as a contact person for these matters.

You can find the contact persons for the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science 10 (Fachbereich 10) for studying abroad here [de].

The ERASMUS program [de], which promotes study periods within the EU, is specifically located at the Fachbereich 10.

The PROMOS program of the DAAD is organized centrally by the International Office, although the actual selection of students for the Fachbereich 10 takes place directly at the department.

An overview of all international programs at the University of Münster can be found on the website Study Abroad. For organizational questions related to other exchange programs (Exchange programmes worldwide, Foreign internships, Foreign teaching internships), the International Office, the Career Service of the University of Münster, and the Zentrum für Lehrkräftebildung (ZLB) are also happy to help.

Recognition of Academic Achievements and Exams

Questions regarding the recognition of academic achievements and exams should be clarified with the respective examination officers of the individual degree programs before your stay abroad, unless this has already been done by the ERASMUS coordinators ("Learning Agreement").

Presentations

  • Presentations by the Fachschaft Mathematik und Informatik (students representatives) on studying abroad are made available for download online [de].

Studying at the University of Münster

General questions (about studying, the application process, language requirements or regarding the organisation of a stay in Münster) are answered by the International Office. Plenty of information on this topic is gathered on their website.

Please note that for the degree programmes of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (not including PhD programs and the English Master of Science in Mathematics) a sufficient command of German is required (Bachelor, Master)! Without very good German language skills an admission to a Mathematics or Computer Science degree programme is not possible.
