Two new working papers published

Two new volumes have been published in the open access series of EViR Working Papers.
Working Paper No. 18 presents the contributions to the ‘Use of Justice’ conceptual forum held in Münster in February 2025. The concept of the use of justice, which was significantly shaped by Martin Dinges, focuses on the actors and their active use of courts as a form of conflict resolution. Originally developed for the early modern period in Europe, the concept is now also being applied to other periods and geographical regions. The interdisciplinary contributions in this volume address the interactions between practices of uses of justice and legal and judicial plurality in various historical contexts. The relationship between the concept and related terms such as forum shopping is also discussed, as is its compatibility with research in other disciplines.
Working Paper No. 23 is the final report on the first funding phase of the Käte Hamburger Kolleg. It draws interim conclusions, provides an overview of the research discussions, perspectives and results of the first funding phase, and addresses the topics of science communication and outreach activities of the Kolleg. In addition, it provides an outlook on the second funding phase.
