New working paper on ‘knowledge of normativity’

© KHK EViR

The new EViR Working Paper No. 17 presents the results of the Conceptual Forum ‘Knowledge of Normativity’ (15.–16.12.2022). Building on the concept by legal historian Thomas Duve, the volume understands legal history not only as the history of norms and institutions, but also focuses on the practice surrounding the formation and application of normative knowledge. By taking into account factors such as practices or materiality as aspects of norm production that have received little attention to date, this approach broadens the focus of research and opens up new perspectives for a global legal history.
