Improved Sustainability through Energy-Efficient Data Centers

Within the framework of the Energy Efficiency Act (Energieeffizienzgesetz, EnEfG), the University of Münster is seeking DIN EN ISO 50001 certification to underline its commitment to energy efficiency in the data centers it operates. The CIT and Department 4 "Facility Management" are working together to continuously improve energy performance and ensure the responsible use of resources. Since 2025, the energy policy of a first data center has been aligned with the requirements of ISO 50001. The audit process for certification will be carried out in March 2026 by the company GutCert. git.nrw: New Guest Feature Facilitates Collaboration with External Partners

git.nrw now offers its users a new guest feature that makes it easy to integrate external project partners. This greatly facilitates the use of git.nrw in national and international (research) collaborations and industry-related projects.

Whereas access for external participants previously required a great deal of organizational effort, users can now easily create guest accounts for up to five external guests themselves. These guests can be added to specific GitLab projects or groups, where they can participate in joint development and project work.

Instructions on how to use the guest function are available in the documentation section of git.nrw.
