Garden party at the Schloss with family programme
At this year’s University summer party, guests can look forward to live music and a festive atmosphere amidst the fascinating world of plants at the Botanical Garden. The Rectorate cordially invites all employees, their families and friends to its garden party on Friday, 3 July. ‘We are very much looking forward to enjoying our University community outside our day-to-day routine,’ says Rector Prof Dr Johannes Wessels. ‘The party offers the perfect opportunity to strike up conversation with colleagues and celebrate the coming end of the semester in an atmospheric setting.’
The festivities begin at 5pm with a family programme. The Children’s University team (Q.UNI) is building a pavilion on the Schlossgarten lawn where a workshop entitled “Physics To Go” will feature exciting experiments, surprising insights and hands-on physics. All the activities are based on the Science Year motto “Medicine of the Future”. The Botanical Garden team will be offering three separate tours – two for adults (5pm and 6pm) and one for children (5pm). Although no prior registration is required, we recommend getting there early as tour group size is limited.
The party officially begins at 7pm with a welcoming address by Johannes Wessels. The programme features a performance by the University’s Big Band II and University Sports. Later in the evening, DJ Alex will keep the dance vibes going strong into the night. A wide variety of snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, but only via cashless payment. As in past years, the summer party will take place on the lawns in front of the music pavilion. Tents will be set up in case of rain. No prior registration is required to attend.
