structured doctorate

At the IfS, outstanding young scientists have the opportunity to do their doctorate within three years as part of a structured program. Doctoral students regularly exchange information on the status of their work and thus also receive suggestions for their own projects. Admission to structured doctoral programs usually takes place through a set application process. Applications are to be sent directly to the GRASS coordination (e-mail).

individual doctorate

The individual doctorate is the classic route to a doctorate. With such a doctorate, the doctoral candidates choose a research topic with the support of the doctoral supervisor and work independently, mostly on an individual basis.

cumulative doctorate
