If you are interested in a research stay at our institute, please contact Dr. Marko Heyse. He will be happy to advise you on exchange opportunities. The Institute of Sociology will support you with any specific questions regarding your stay at our institute. It can issue invitations and sign a letter of acceptance. During your stay, the institute will provide you with an office space (PC, Wi-Fi, printer, etc.).
For general questions regarding formalities (e.g., visas), grants, accommodation, language courses, etc., the University of Münster has two central advisory services for international doctoral candidates and researchers:
- The CERes (Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers) is the advisory service for international doctoral candidates.
- The Welcome Centre advises post-doctoral researchers exclusively.
Before your stay at the Institute of Sociology, you should contact a professor (PROF), senior professor (SEN), or research associate (WMA) to discuss the content of your stay. In addition to the academic exchange in the institute's offices and corridors, you are warmly invited to actively participate in our institute's events: for example, you are welcome to present your research findings at the institute's colloquium or attend our conferences. While we do not generally offer dedicated courses, we would be delighted if you would lead individual sessions within our lectures or seminars.
The working languages at our institute are German and English.
