The Committee for Teaching and Student Affairs (KLS) is a permanent Senate committee at the University of Münster. Its central task is to lay the groundwork for Senate decisions on teaching and studies. Its scope of responsibilities comprises the following tasks:
a) fundamental matters of teaching, including part-time, distance and dual study programmes
b) supporting internal, national and international collaborations with respect to teaching and academic advising
c) principles of teaching evaluations
d) increasing the attractiveness of the University as a place of teaching and learning
e) principles of examination regulations, course curricula and accreditation procedures
f) infrastructural matters with respect to their impact on teaching (e.g. building usage, room availability and classroom furnishings/equipment).
The KLS is comprised of the following members who serve a two-year term in office:
- three members from the group of professors
- three members from the group of academic staff
- three members from the group of students
- three members from the group of non-academic staff (MTV)
The current term began on 1 April 2025 and ends on 31 March 2027 (studentsfrom 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027).
The committee convenes twice a semester.
