Thanks to the financial support of the Santander Mobility Fund, I was able to participate in the RENT conference (Research in Entrepreneurship and Small Business) in Gdansk, Poland, from November 15-17, 2023. The conference was organized by the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management.
This year, the submited research papers covered the topic "Taming Uncertainty." For example, the research findings could help companies build up greater resilience to unforeseeable events in the future, such as climate risks. During the conference, two exciting keynotes were held on current data and trends in the entrepreneurship scene and on the topic of migrant entrepreneurship.
In the session on technology and knowledge-based entrepreneurship, I had the opportunity to present the second paper of my dissertation on green manufacturing and its impact on companies in the S&P500 index. In the subsequent discussion round, I received valuable feedback from experienced researchers for the further development of my paper.
I also had the opportunity to exchange ideas with other scholars from all over the world at various social events and make valuable contacts. Especially the exchange about the latest innovation trends was very exciting and broadened my perspective on the topic. Finally, the venue of Gdansk with its historical charm was another highlight of the conference trip.
