Becoming a research group leader

This event explores how you can develop your postdoctoral career toward research group leadership and addresses the following questions: What skills and experiences are essential for this path, and how can you start building them? Which funding opportunities are available, what are their eligibility criteria, and what can you do to meet these requirements? At the end, a testimonial speaker will share first-hand insights and will answer your questions.

This workshop is organised by the teams of SAFIR Research Funding Support und Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) as a contribution to the Postdoc Appreciation Week Germany this year, which takes place from 21-25 September 2026. Find out more about the Postdoc appreciation week here and about the events of the University of Münster here.
