The Center for Religion and Modernity (CRM) is dedicated to the study of religions, religious communities and actors, and their changing roles in modern and modernizing societies. Research focuses in particular on the conditions, patterns and repercussions of religious change, as well as on the relationship that religion has to politics, economics, and law in modern societies. The CRM also explores the increasing religious pluralism that we can observe today, and examines the political, social and legal implications that this has for the coexistence of members of different religious communities and for non-religious people. Besides studying the relationship between religion and modernity in its main research areas and various projects, the CRM also cultivates dialogue with the general public in a variety of ways, organizing events such as lecture series, conferences and lectures, and using its own publications to disseminate its research findings.
