Voice to the focus area Psychological Analysis of Social Dynamics

Ina Mielke

I work as…

…research associate and PhD-student in the work group selection instruments (Prof. Dr. Hampe) at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf.

Here, I deal with…

...the development and validation of Situational Judgement Tests and Multiple Mini-Interviews for student selection in Human and Dental Medicine and Midwifery Science programs.

In a current project, for example, we work on…

...developing new interview and role play stations for the dual degree program in midwifery. The process requires basic knowledge from personality psychology (e.g., How can we make interindividual differences in emotional stability visible?), from statistics (e.g., How do we deal with rigor/mildness of raters?) as well as practical skills of project management and in cooperation with different stakeholders.

I still benefit from my time as student assistant in Münster…

...because I was not only able to experience state-of-the-art research, but also to conduct it myself as part of my final thesis and present it in publications or at conferences.

The Master PASD is a perfect basis for the work in my area…

...because it offers sound methodological and practical training in a dynamic and diverse scientific field between basic and applied research. From my experience, a very good methodological education as well as a strong network of researchers are the best prerequisites for a successful start into a scientific career - the focus area PASD offers both.
