Applying for the aptitude test

Below, you will find step-by-step instructions for taking the aptitude test and an overview of the other admission requirements.

This is how the application process works:

  • Online application

Chick here for the online application.

    PLEASE NOTE: EXTENDED APPLICATION PERIOD!!!

You can apply from 15 February 2022 to 18 April 2022 via our online portal for the aptitude test for a course of study in the winter semester 2022/2023. This year, application documents will be uploaded exclusively in the upload area via the online portal and no longer need to be sent to the University of Music by post.

For your application for the winter semester 2022/2023, you have to submit a recording on a video platform (image/sound) (e.g. youtube).

The link is provided via the online application portal (application deadline 15th April 2022) and cannot be submitted later. Please note that the link must be error-free and unencrypted. Furthermore, it must be available until the end of the selection process.

If these requirements are not met, your application will not be considered.

Information regarding the requirements for the content of the link can be found below under „Aptitude test | Requirements“.

The aptitude test will be conducted in a two-stage procedure:

1st round: Digital pre-selection (youtube link).

2nd round: presence examination at the Münster University of Music.

You will find out by e-mail around 10 May 2022 whether you have been admitted to the 2nd round in presence.

Note for applicants for the Pop-Vocals major:

For applications for the Pop-Vocals major, the link will be used for pre-selection regardless of the pandemic situation, as a two-stage application process is generally used here.
