First things first

Degree Programmes

You can find general information about our degree programmes here.

Admission

The Münster University of Music offers non-restricted degree programmes only. Although there are no official NC (numerus clausus) restrictions, admission is decided on the basis of an aptitude test, with which you must demonstrate your artistic proficiency.

Aptitude tests

Aptitude tests are administered once a year in May/June for prospective enrolment in the winter semester (Registration period: mid-February until mid-April each year).

Fit for the Aptitude Test

At a weekend prior to the aptitude test, we always offer a preparatory course called "Fit for the Aptitude Test" in the subjects "General Music Theory" and "Aural Training" (classical and popular) for prospective entrants to the bachelor's programmes "Bachelor of Music – Music and Creativity" and "Bachelor of Music – Music and Education".

Master Courses

We also organise "Master Courses for Prospective Students" every February which are open to advanced music students interested in studying music and students who are thinking about transferring to our university or pursuing an advanced music degree (e.g. the concert examination). The participants benefit from trial lessons and individual consultation – also with respect to the aptitude tests. This can be YOUR start to a fulfilled life with music!
