Networking activities at the University of Münster

In line with University policy, the Equal Opportunity Office cooperates with various departments and units to make gender mainstreaming a cross-cutting task and permanently anchor projects which promote gender equality in the organisational structure of the University of Münster.

The Equal Opportunity Office develops long-term strategies for ensuring gender equality in coordination with the University management. The University’s central committees and the Equal Opportunity Committee of the Senate play an integral role in this task. The Equal Opportunity Officer regularly cooperates with the Department of Personnel Development to integrate gender equality as a component of personnel development, e.g. through the mentoring programme “Erstklassig!” (First class!), the professional qualification programme “Women in University Management” and the continuing education series “Volltreffer!” (in German only).
To further improve the work-life balance for University employees and academic staff, the Equal Opportunity Office works closely with the Family Service Office, serving an advisory function in the “family-friendly university” recertification process, which is coordinated by the Department for Personnel Development. In order to help staff reconcile the duties of career and family life, the Equal Opportunity Officer also works together with the Dual Career Service.
