Abstract: In this talk, I will show how Price inequalities for harmonic forms can be used to prove the Singer conjecture for higher graph manifolds with residually finite fundamental group. In dimension three, where a result of Hempel ensures that the residual finiteness assumption is always satisfied, this approach provides an alternative proof of a result of Lott and Lueck (Invent. Math., 1995).
