The Centre for Eastern Mediterranean Studies is a joint institution of the Faculty of Protestant Theology, the Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology, the Faculty of History and Philosophy and the Faculty of Philology according to § 29 HG (=Higher Education Act) and Art. 63 of the constitution of the University of Münster.

The current usage and administrative regulation [de] went into effect on 4^th November 2008.
