Doctoral research pathways

Our doctoral students get inspired and challenged to address complex questions and develop novel ideas. The collaborative culture of our institute thrives in the doctoral programme: our doctoral students learn and work together. This dynamic team leads to supportive networks and shared accomplishments.

Our interdisciplinary institute is positioned in both the University of Münster’s Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy and its School of Business and Economics. We, therefore, offer two pathways to a doctoral degree: students can either obtain a doctoral degree in natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) or in social science (Dr. rer. pol.).

Students with a master’s degree in business chemistry, chemistry or a related field with sufficient credits in chemistry can choose the natural science pathway. Doctoral students choosing this path are enrolled in the doctoral programme of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy.

Students with a master’s degree in management, business administration and engineering or a related field with sufficient credits in business administration can choose the social science pathway. Doctoral students choosing this path are enrolled in the doctoral programme of the School of Business and Economics.
